My 4 year-old Lenovo All-In-One computer died. Yep. Just flat out died. Stopped working. Great.
I've ordered a new computer system, this time avoiding the AIO style setups, and am going back to a standard Tower-with-monitor. This time around I'm getting an ACER system with 8G speed, 2TB storage, lots of USB inputs, etc. I have to re-install all my various software - Reaper, EZ Drummer, RealEight, Focusrite and Yamaha drivers, Inkscape, Paint.NET, ShotCut and Windows Movie Maker, CDBurn, MP3Tag, ... good gosh that's a lot of software. Not to mention my various VSTs and Samples that I use to make music.
This weekend my plan is to clean up my existing studio area and get it ready for when the new system comes in. I have so much stuff sitting around that I just don't use anymore, lots of cables, adapters, an old "boom-box" that used to be my studio monitors, and lots of old software boxes that have 20 year-old software games that won't work on any new PC systems.
I've decided to look at this as a good thing - I'm re-building and streamlining my multi-media studio, and refining it to just what I need. I'm also getting ready to upload a bunch of art to either RedBubble or TeeSpring to sell T-shirts and other "merch" of my album covers and other abstract art designs. So maybe I'll even be able to earn some "passive" income. I'll be posting links to my "merch" as soon as it is ready to go on my YouTube video pages and here at my main website.
